The answer is yes, but it can take twice as long to sell your home by yourself than with a Realtor.   In addition, homes sold "by owner" have shown to sell for a lower price than homes sold using a Realtor.   In 2001, a study by the National Assn. of Realtors found that homes sold by Realtors averaged 27% higher on the price than that of the homes sold by the owner.

Other studies by the NAR indicate that many of the successful "by owner" sellers sold their house to some- one they already knew, such as a friend, neighbor or a relative.

To make things more difficult, the vast majority of buyers contact a Realtor first for many reasons that all add up to more choices, convenience and peace of mind, at no extra cost.  A real estate professional like Dwight, knows the homes, the area and the paperwork which can save a buyer time and money.

To see if you should try selling yourself or let a professional Realtor handle the details and marketing, give Dwight a call at (281) 360-2214.
